Residential Services

Family Action residential services provide support to people experiencing mental illness in their community. Services are managed and funded in a range of partnerships involving NHS Trusts, local authorities, Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) and Supporting People.

Our residential services are guided by the following principles:

  • To provide and evaluate individual support. Each client is assigned a key worker who helps them to plan their support and review progress.
  • To respect tenants’ rights and to enable and support them to make informed choices about their living environment and lifestyle.
  • To facilitate access to community-based resources and services, such as leisure centres, colleges and employment services.
  • To ensure that anybody involved with our service does not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, ethnicity or national origins, gender or sexual preference, marital status, age, religion or disability.
  • Where possible, to meet the individual’s needs through a locally accessible, flexible and fully coordinated multi-disciplinary service. The appropriateness and performance of the service is regularly reviewed by tenants and stakeholders.
  • To work with tenants to provide a safe and suitable living environment according to individual need.
  • To ensure that tenants’ needs are met in accordance with health and safety requirements.
