Today

Since the mid 1990s Family Action’s turnover has grown from £3 million to around £22 million today. This has been helped by the Government’s investment in childrens services, particularly for the under fives through its Sure Start programme.

We have taken over the services of other charities, including Newpin in 2004 and Family Service Units (fsu) services in 2006 so that now Family Action is the largest provider of services to families in the country providing services in eight of the nine English regions and supporting over 45,000 vulnerable families and individuals a year.

Family Action’s uniqueness as a service provider lies in its ability to help families (as a whole and as individuals) who have been unable to find help elsewhere; to give a practical response through grants as well as social work support and working with each family member to achieve a brighter future.

On 3 September 2008 FWA changed it's name to Family Action. Read more about why.
