Our
Be Bothered! Make Education Count for Young Carers report highlights the problems young carers face in school.
""School is bad because people don't understand and they (bullies) could pick on you."
As many as 1 in 12 secondary school pupils could be young carers and we know from our report that young carers are often punished by teachers for poor attendance, bad behaviour or lack of concentration because they are not aware of caring roles.
We are calling on schools, local authorities and Government to work together to Be Bothered about Young Carers and to make education count for them. Read the Key Findings from our report or download the full Be Bothered! Report here.
