140 years old in 2009!

Family Action celebrates its 140th birthday this year. Family Action has a long and proud history of supporting families in the UK. Since its establishment Family Action has provided support to the neediest families, whatever their situation, helping them move towards a brighter future.

Volunteers have played a key role in Family Action throughout the years. Indeed, the organisation was almost entirely volunteer-run for many years, though during that time we were also making a vital contribution to the professionalisation of social work.
