Service User Participation

Our CommitmentFamily Action has a proud history of involving service users in the delivery of its services. In some instances, our service users have gone on to work in a professional capacity, even managing some of our projects.

We are committed to working in partnership with the users of our services to develop and deliver support of the highest quality. We recognise that our service users have valuable experience, skills and insight, which can help us to improve our services and to make sure they remain relevant and accessible to the local community.

We view our service users as equal partners and work with them to achieve our shared aspirations. Existing OpportunitiesFamily Action is currently developing a range of opportunities for service user participation, these include:

  • supporting peers
  • helping to run activities, within a service or in the community
  • membership of local and regional decision making panels
  • volunteering
  • participating in staff recruitment
  • working on specific projects
  • contributing to campaigning activities.
