To this day volunteering within Family Action is valued as an essential and key component in successful service delivery and in reflecting our core values. Around 60% of our services across England have active volunteers, drawn from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, contributing to the running of the service. We are very proud of the fact that service users and ex-service users regularly become volunteers for Family Action, and that the training and experience we provide often equips our volunteers to move into paid employment.
Family Action continues to offer a diverse range of volunteering opportunities. The most popular volunteering roles remain administration, befriending, childcare, counselling and mentoring, which benefit a number of different client groups including adults & children with mental health issues, parents and families, children with learning disabilities, children and adults with physical disabilities, the elderly, project staff and young people.
