Barclaycard has supported Family Action since 2005 through its
award winning Horizons programme. We're delighted to be working together for another year, helping lone parent families.
Horizons is Barclaycard’s key UK community sponsorship programme. Launched in July 2005, it is now in it's 6th year of helping lone parents out of debt and poverty through a programme of support services on money matters, providing grants towards training and education costs and helping lone parents to get back to work.
These services are provided by three national charity partners:
- Your Education: Family Action
- Your Money: Citizens Advice Bureau
- Your Work: Gingerbread
Running since 2005, the Horizon’s Grant Programme has distributed £1m in educational grants to benefit 12,000 lone parents and their children.
""I received your successful application letter a week after my course fees of £1,854 were requested. I am extremely grateful as the £1000 that I have been awarded will allow me to complete the my first year of my course. Please convey my thanks to the awarding panel!"
Sam was awarded a grant from the Barclaycard Horizons Your Education fund, which is helping turn her dream of becoming one of the few female black cab drivers in London into reality.
""I wouldn’t have been able to go to the Knowledge School without it. I was finding it a real struggle; now I don’t have to worry if there’s a book or materials that I need, which means I can concentrate on the studies."
