Adult Mental Health

Around a quarter of us will have some sort of mental health problem in our lifetime. Mental health issues can affect anyone regardless of age, sex, class or race. They can also have a profound affect on family members and particularly children. This is why Family Action provides specialist mental health services for adults, children and whole families.

Family Action currently operates 30 specialist mental health services in England. We work with an estimated 1000 individuals, their families and friends each year.

We provide practical and emotional support, aiding independence, choice and community involvement.

Our Services

Family Action’s wide range of services include:

All services are carefully planned and reviewed with the full involvement of the prospective user, their family, friends and relevant professionals where appropriate.

The length and intensity of support varies depending on the type of service and levels of need. Most of our services are time limited and aim to establish the full independence of their users once a planned programme of support is complete.

Family Action are committed to tackling stigma and we actively support our service users to campaign on behalf of themselves, their peers and communities.
