Family Welfare Association (FWA) has changed its name to Family Action.
Over the past decade the charity has gone from strength to strength; more than doubling in size and supporting more disadvantaged families, in more communities across England than ever before. This success has prompted the desire to review the internal values and public perception of a transformed organisation.
Last year we asked service users, staff, commissioners and funders to tell us their thoughts on our values, the quality of our work supporting families and our name.
The results of the audit gave us reassurance:
- service users told us they felt safe, supported, more confident and optimistic
- existing funders and commissioners told us they thought our work was unrivalled and that we were more honest than other charities
But it also highlighted that service users were put off by the word ‘welfare’ in our name.
We wanted to address these concerns and decided to modernise our name and public image to better reflect our values and standards of service delivery.
