Why I'm running
I’ve been a Friendship Works mentor for seven years now so it’s very close to my heart and I can see the difference it makes. Seven years ago my mentee was ten and was very quiet and shy. Now she’s 17 she is so much more confident. She does lots of public speaking and is very outgoing, so I’m really proud of her. As well as raising money, I hope this challenge also sets a good example to her that it’s important to challenge yourself.
What did you mentee say when you told her you were going to do three marathons in a row?
When I first told my mentee I was running three marathons in a row she was pretty amazed, but now she’s really keen to get involved helping me with training. She’s even suggested that she could cycle next to me running on longer training runs to help motivate me!
