Dorset SENDIAS service joins Family Action

03 February 2022

Family Action is delighted to have been awarded SENDIAS service for Dorset and we look forward to continuing to work together to provide impartial, consistent, high-quality support to families accessing the service.

We have been delivering SENDIAS services in Family Action since April 2013 and SEND related services since June 2017. We have children and family services all over the UK and the Isle of Man and a 150-year history of influencing policy and legislation.

What we will provide

  • Dorset SENDIASS will provide high quality, timely, impartial information and advice about matters relating to SEND.
  • We provide support to children and young people up to the age of 25 with SEND and their parents and carers, promoting independence, autonomy, and self-advocacy.
  • We empower children, young people, and their families to remove barriers and make informed decisions about the options available to them.
  • We will be co-producing new look and feel web and social media pages alongside local parent carers and the developing a young people’s service.

The Team

The existing staff team, Jane, Helen, and Emily transferred to Family Action on 1st of February plus recruitment for new roles are underway. We look forward to building on the excellent work of the service.
