Stories from this summer

In Wales families from our Family Support service enjoyed a day at the beach which included a treasure hunt and a healthy picnic. A space was also rented for families to do activities such as cake decorating and arts and crafts.

“Lovely place next to the beach”

In Southend our Children’s Centres brought the beach to them, organising a beach themed party for their babies with over 50 people attending. The babies loved exploring the water and sand with their parents. The Centres also organised two fundays for the whole family with bouncy castles, entertainers and magic shows.

“I will never forget the smile on my child’s face when they saw how exciting the activities looked on the field!”

In Peterborough families where a child has ADHD or autism enjoyed a day of outdoor fun at BeWILDerwood. Activities included zip wires, marsh walks, a boat ride, face painting and storytelling.

“We find it very hard to go on day trips or holidays with our son as he doesn’t cope on public transport and we don’t drive so we haven’t had a day out or holiday for years. So very much appreciated thank you.”

Lewisham Young Carers took ten young people on a trip to Legoland where they had a jam-packed day trying all the rides from river rapids to the pirate ship.

“I can’t wait to return to school and tell my friends about the rides”
