Admin Volunteer Barrow

About this role

Our admin volunteers provide valuable support to our services. Having a volunteer to help with tasks such as answering the phone, greeting visitors, or helping with administrative tasks means our frontline staff get more time to focus on providing support to families in need.

What is the time commitment?

This role is for 3 hours per week approximately. Minimum commitment for 6 months.

Who will you be helping?

Babies (0-2yrs), Children, Families, Parents, Pre-schoolers (3-5yrs), Teenagers, Young People

What difference will you make?

Our Admin volunteers are a very valuable part of our services. They support the day-to-day running of our charity, enabling us to reach more people through our work.

Your support at our Family Action centre or office makes a direct difference to the lives of families and individuals, by ensuring that our front-line staff can spend more time giving people who use our services the practical and emotional support they need. 

Brings added skills, experience and knowledge

Builds relationship with the service users/community

Aids delivering projects in a more efficient and effective way

Who are we looking for?

There is no typical Family Action volunteer. We want our volunteers to be as diverse as the people we support. 

We need volunteers with a range of life experiences, skills and knowledge to. In return for giving your time and talents, you will receive quality training, ongoing support, and the reward of knowing that you are making a real difference. This role will particularly suit volunteers who:

·    Are computer literate

·    Have good written and verbal communication skills

·   Have a friendly telephone manner

·    Have some previous admin experience (useful but not essential)

All Family Action volunteers receive full training and access to ongoing supervision and support for as long as they are in the role.
