Holiday Activity Volunteer Carlisle

About this role

The best part about this role is its flexibility…we don’t ask for a regular commitment. This role suits people who see the glass as half-full, who are adventurous and willing to try new things, or who simply want to help but need a more flexible timetable for their volunteering.

There is no fixed time commitment for this role. Once you have completed our induction and training, we will discuss the best option for you. Whatever we agree, we will be in touch at least every 3 months to let you know what opportunities we have coming up.

What is the time commitment?

This role is for 4 hours per week approximately. Minimum commitment for As and when.

Who will you be helping?

Babies (0-2yrs), Children, Families, Individuals or families living with additional needs, Parents, Teenagers, Young People

This is a flexible, as and when volunteering role to help and support the 0-19 child and family support service with a variety of as and when needed voluntary work that will benefit local children, families, teenagers, parents.

What difference will you make?

We might ask you for seasonal support with anything from Christmas gift wrapping to planning a summer picnic; we might ask you to help out with particular tasks like gardening or supporting an event; or we may ask you to cover a role if one of our regular volunteers is not able to come in.

It’s difficult to pin down exactly what we will ask you to do until we know more about your skills and interests, but whether you can give us an hour a week or a day once a month, rest assured that you will have a varied and impactful experience of helping families directly, or helping our service to help families.

The Holiday activity role is ideally suited to those who are in Further Education. Holiday Activity volunteers get the best of both worlds – a flexible opportunity that fits around them, but a wide range of experience across all areas of support.
