The Family Action Gainsborough WellFamily service is funded by the local clinical commissioning group and covers GP surgeries in and around the Gainsborough area.

We seek to empower people and communities to address their issues and challenges with practical support through a holistic person-centred assessment, advice and signposting to community and statutory services.

Our aim

The service aims to improve the mental health of individuals and families who live in Gainsborough.

Our work

We help individuals to manage their mental health through coping strategies to reduce anxiety and depression, thereby improving self-esteem and confidence. We can offer:

  • 6 to 8 week one-to-one sessions with assessment and review for further support needs
  • holistic and person-centred support
  • a ‘single door’ for a wide range of problems
  • flexible early intervention that responds to local need
  • practical advice (housing, welfare benefits, parenting etc)
  • signposting, referral and liaison with other services
  • information and support services incorporated into a health and wellbeing plan so that people with complex problems do not have to deal with several different agencies and professionals.
