It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our former Chief Executive, Helen Dent CBE. Helen led our organisation with distinction from 1996 to 2013 and oversaw both significant growth in the charity’s reach and a very significant merger with FSU (Family Service Units) in 2006.
Under Helen’s leadership we rebranded from the Family Welfare Association to Family Action and became the largest provider of services to families in the country. We developed new and innovative ways to support individuals, families and communities including some of our first perinatal services. Helen also led us to a number of awards which recognised our positive impact.
Helen is still remembered very fondly by people throughout our organisation. Her commitment to Family Action and to all that we stand for and her contribution to improving the lives of families will be remembered by us all.
