Governance

It is essential charities have good governance, to ensure they are effectively run and successful in achieving their aims.

Our governance rests with the Board of Trustees, who are responsible for setting the direction of the charity, providing a long-term vision and protecting the charity’s reputation and values.

They have an important role to play in ensuring that the welfare of both staff and beneficiaries of the charity is well managed through effective policies and procedures.

Family Action takes its governance very seriously, and we have appointed Trustees who can use their expertise and skills to ensure that the most effective decisions are made. The Trustee Board meets six times a year, and there are four committees of the Board – the Audit Committee, the Quality and Performance Committee, the Governance Committee and the Investment Committee.

All members of our Board of Trustees are volunteers. Find out more about volunteering with Family Action.
