Two years on from welcoming HRH Duchess of Cambridge as our Patron
07 December 2021
When Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge became our patron two years ago, few of us could have predicted the challenging times ahead.
It almost seems that the announcement and her visit with children from one of our services, where she chose Christmas trees and made eco-friendly Reindeer Food, took place in a simpler, more idyllic care free time.
We believe that simple Christmas traditions like these – trees, letters, decorations – have as much power as ever, if not more, following a time of great societal upset, and provide both reassurance and a source of strength for families
We are celebrating both the comfort existing traditions give us as families and providing a FREEChristmas calendar activity pack to help inspire families to form new traditions built on time together and, where possible, give back to our communities and society as a whole.
And where families are struggling through the Christmas season we’ll continue to support them – through our long-established Toy Appeal, which continues to grow each year, as well as via our online content featuring real-life stories, parenting tips and guidance from our services.
And if people need a listening ear they can always contact our FamilyLine service, which continues to provide emotional support, information and guidance via our network of volunteers and experts.
