Family Action Children & Family Centres Gloucestershire

What we do

Playing an important role in the community, Gloucestershire Children and Family Centres will provide a wide range of supportive activities for children and families throughout Stroud and the Cotswolds.

Achieved through a whole-family approach and multi-agency working, and offering tailored support for those having been identified as being in greatest need, the aims of the centres are:

· to enable parents and carers to feel confident and capable, providing a space for their children to grow, learn and develop their full potential,

· to help support babies, children and young people to be ready for, and succeed in, educa-tion, training and employment, and,

· to support families to have high levels of resilience, emotional and mental wellbeing.

 

We are pleased to advise that there will be minimal change to family support staff and the service families receive will continue much the same as before. Family Action are working closely with the existing provider, and with Gloucestershire County Council, to ensure a smooth transition.

How we work

We understand that the best way to ensure successful service delivery is to work together with those who access the services as well as partners and other providers in the locality. We are committed to providing the right opportunities for this to happen.

The centres will continue to deliver an evolving menu of services to include but not limited to:

· Information, advice and signposting

· Support sessions and activities

· Universal peer support groups

· Participation in specialist group work

· Bespoke 1:1 support and coaching
