Family Action was funded by the Department for Education (DfE) in 2013-15 to support schools to develop affordable and flexible childcare (breakfast, after-school and holiday provision) on a school site.

Dismantling the Barriers guide

The guide shows how selected schools, supported by Family Action’s Childcare in Schools team, addressed challenges to setting up flexible and affordable school-based childcare provision. It highlights the positive impact that wraparound childcare provision can have – both by supporting families and enabling parents to access work and training, and on the schools themselves.
