What are the grants for?
All grants are intended to help recipients meet food costs. Grants will be made via a supermarket voucher, with the recipient able to choose between Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Asda or Morrisons.
Why are the grants restricted to families Family Action works with?
Family Action, and partner organisations, support over 60,000 families across England. Our frontline services know these families and their situations intimately and, as such, can help us identify the most vulnerable people and ensure the grants are used most effectively.
Are there any restrictions on what the vouchers can be used for?
The grants are available to help people and families accessing our services who are at risk of food security. The programme is designed primarily to address food poverty but if a family decides to spend their grant on, for instance, warm clothes, this is acceptable.
